Omaha Mansions - Where the Stars Stay in OmahaPosted by Steve Minino on Tuesday, July 17th, 2012 at 3:06pm.
Quite simply, Omaha has some of the most beautiful mansions and castles in Nebraska. Even celebrities and stars frequent these Omaha mansions and castles for the best food, entertainment, and accommodations.
If you are looking for a luxurious, historical mansion that oozes style and grace, consider Omaha's finest mansions and castles.
The Cornerstone Mansion
Located at 140 North 39th Street, the Cornerstone Mansion is the only historic inn in Omaha. Years ago, this fabulous home was known as the Offutt House. With over 10,000 square feet of living space, the original owners spared no expense when building the Cornerstone Mansion in 1894.
Offering seven guest rooms, the mansion is now run by Innkeepers and has served as a Bed and Breakfast since the 1980s. Guests enjoy large rooms, a 125 year old Weber Box Grand Piano, a large sun porch, a parlor, and a formal dining room. Guests can enjoy gourmet meals, take a walk through the gardens, or wander through the public areas and enjoy the extensive use of intricate mahogany woodwork, onyx, and mosaic tiling.
The Joslyn Castle
Built by Nebraska's wealthiest couple in 1903, the Joslyn Castle is a 35-room, Scottish Baronial mansion on Omaha's outskirts at 3902 Davenport Street. Available for tours, public events, and private rentals, the Joslyn Castle is a lavish home both inside and outside. Starting with an incredible wrought iron door, the Joslyn Castle also features an impressive curved staircase, a marble fireplace, stained glass windows, and satinwood throughout the home.
Within the Joslyn Castle, the library, drawing room, dining room, music room, and ballroom were common entertaining areas. Both the castle and the carriage house are made from silverdale limestone. The Joslyn Castle is a popular place to rent for parties, celebrations, weddings and corporate events.
The Renaissance Mansion
Restored to its original splendor, The Renaissance Mansion is located at 401 S. 39th St. and is perfect for weddings, receptions, and corporate gatherings. The Renaissance Mansion offers themed dinners, privacy for meetings, catering services, and exceptional fine details such as Tiffany art glass, beamed ceilings, curved windows of lead glass from England, mahogany wood, fireplaces, and curios. If you want to impress your group, this is the place to come.
